I am currently a PhD student at the FME ZEN Research Center at the Norwegian University of Science and Technology (NTNU) in Trondheim. My research field is integrated design and performance evaluation of Positive Energy Buildings. The research is a part of syn.ikia research project, which focuses on developing sustainable positive energy neighbourhoods (SPEN).
My background is a bachelor in Architectural Engineering from University of Colorado Boulder, and a master of science in Sustainable Architecture at NTNU in Trondheim. During the bachelor I was a student-athlete and competed for CU Ski Team.
Alpine skiing has always been a big part of my life. Before I moved to Colorado to study engineering, I skied for the Norwegian European Cup Team.
Why start a blog? I would like to share the progress of my research, as I hope for it to be of valuable information for others in the building sector. Typically, research results are disseminated through scientific articles, which can be lengthy and time consuming to read. By sharing, not only the results, but also the methods and challenges of the research, I hope to engage and share awareness of ongoing research about positive energy buildings and neighbourhoods.
